Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Did somebody here have elementary level books to get rid of? I just got an email from UNO looking for donations of books to schools.

Really? Damnit, I knew I should have brought that damn box of books with me when I was there. -t, can you forward me that info too?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

How do I love marriage? Let me count the ways.

Coloradans for Marriage is a right-wing group “pushing an anti-gay amendment in their state. To support their cause, they’ve created a list of all the great things about marriage,” mcjoan writes at DailyKos. “It’s, um, a bit sparse.”

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

So, my interview this morning went... okay. They wrote things down a lot. I wish I'd really practiced what to say about classroom management, except I don't really know what to say. But they were very nice, and they chuckled at my jokes, so whether I get the job or not at least it wasn't a miserable experience.

Plus, I totally looked great. All professional and shit.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Bwah!

Well no wonder it needs protecting.

Yay for you, Emily! I'm going to need to buy a blouse, I think.

Also... isn't their stated purpose to basically restrict the number of marriages? You'd think they'd have a list of "Reasons Marriage Kind of Sucks and You Gay People Wouldn't Like It, Really, It's Not All It's Cracked Up To Be, Take My Word For It."

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Cheeky monkey.

That's my goal to take away from every interview. There have only been a couple positions for which my resume was perfect. And even then, someone could be more perfect. So I figure it's about giving a decent interview, and feeling solid about that.
