Okay, you know what? I get that it's nice outside, and I don't really have any right to tell Not!Emily and his friend not to be on the balcony, but I'm sitting next to the balcony door to do my work because on the other side of the room I can't think due to the pounding of music coming through the wall with his room. So they need to pick one or the other and stay away from me.

EEEGADS! They're on the balcony? It's SUCH a mess!

I went to Mass (2 first communions, 3 baptisms--complete immersion into the nice heated pool, many crying babies, and only two hats), had tea and coffee cake with my sister, talked to my folks, and went to Safeway. Now I have to clean house and decide what to make for my Buffy-watching guests who will be here in... 70 minutes.

Erk?

At the beginning of the semester, there was a student teaching orientation meeting at my university, at which they took a couple of pictures of the scholarship recipients for posting, I thought they said, in a day or two. I just went to check my transcript, and there's that photo, on the front page. Running just a bit behind, are they?

Easter Sunday used to be the day women wore their best and most festive hats to Mass. It still is in some communities, but not in the progressive upper-middle-class mostly-white churches I attend. So I only saw 2 today.

Our wings are not tired

Easter...instead of Church, I'm going to Vegas. This is fitting.

go, bug with the hat-wearing!

I remember having an Easter outfit when I was about six; it included a red "straw" (actually plastic) hat and matching purse, a red plaid dress with a lace collar, and white gloves.

You just don't see that any more. Heck, there were at least 3 boys in hoodies today.

Oh, church hats! Of course! I even had Easter bonnets, back when I was younger, and thus shorter and smaller, than I am today, I just didn't make the connection. For some reason I kept coming up with paper sailor hats.
