Also, they're asking about my salary. Damned if I can remember. Do I really have to put something? How is it relevant? My most recent job, sure, although it's in a totally different field. But 8 years ago, when I was an editor? 10, when I was a temp?
Natter .44 Magnum: Do You Feel Chatty, Punk?
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Emily, definitely say they can contact the old employer -- they probably won't, but if you say they can't it looks bad. Make up a salary, and leave off the temp stuff.
Tom, that is gorgeous furniture and lovely pictures! Your niece and nephew are so cute!
Well, shoot. I have absolutely no idea what that editing job paid. Entry-level straight-outta-college type job, Boston, 1996... what sounds good?
Emily, always say they can call the employer. Most people won't bother and I certainly do not think that they will track down the person who actually supervised you. If they do contact a past employer, they will probably just talk to HR and ask about your time there and salary. Mostly they will want to verify that you were there when you said you were. Take a stab at the sallary, maybe even say approx.
What's this job? Ms. Fancy teacher lady.
I started at $20K my first admin job out of college in 1996, working for a nonprofit.
Teaching in a summer Upward Bound program. It's just that the school has an online application process for ANY job at the university (and they only provided three space for education and told me to include high school - ha!).
It's been nice and sunny in this part of LA all morning.
I'm not sure about what to do next. I watched the new Doctor Who, and maybe a movie. Shower and a movie. Or perhaps just lying here on my lounge watching stuff off the TiVo and Netflix. I feel lassitude. But not in a bad way.
In a cozy, things are nice, way.
I'm afraid my lassitude is going to be interrupted by Easter dinner with my daughter's BF's parents. It's cool, though, since I didn't have to cook.
Tom, those pictures are great. Penguins! And red pandas! The neice and nephew are a couple of cuties.
Filling out a different online application -- they want GPAs for the two high schools I attended for a year each in the 80s. Come on!
ETA: Actually, they only provide space for one high school.
