Root beer floats are among the best things ever invented.
As long as the root beer is Barq's. The only decent-tasting root beer ever.

Ah, how well you know me.
I'll see what we can do about laying in a good stock of varied and lush root beers in the hospitality suite fridge.
eta: Barq's is okay - certainly infinitely better than Mug and A&W, but Sprecher's, Abita and Virgil's stomp all over it.
sara, insent
Joins DXM, JZ, and flea in slurping down root beer floats. Yummmm, just the right thing on a hot day!
I did have a beer and butter-pecan ice cream float once at a college party, and while it wasn't awful, it wasn't something I'd drink again, especially not sober.
In non-beverage stuff, I was googling my last name with "Sweden" to see how popular my last name is in the homeland, and found a small publisher named "Astrom Editions" that specializes in Mediterranean archeological treatises! Cool stuff.

Yum Vermonty Python. The Neapolitan Dynamite is good too but at our house the Cherry Garcia side is gone first most of the time (darn kids!) mixed together in the bowl it's very yum! I almost picked up a pint of the Black & Tan last night but didn't I may have to head back to the store tonight.
Barq's is the best big-selling root beer, but there are some really excellent varieties put out by smaller producers. I just had one by the Jones soda company (the company that puts out all those wacky flavors) that was fabulous.
My favorite B&J flavor is Dublin Mudslide. So very nummy.
