Something about the tunnels in Bones last night bugged me. And I think I've found the source of my skepticism. DC is notoriously swampy. I am skeptical about any Civil War era underground vaults, not to mention an abandoned network of tunnels. It's not a big deal, there was just some mental dissonance.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

On the flipside, this LJ showed up with a word of warning:

Eh, there's no doubt that Pine Ridge has and has had its problems. But, I don't know, anonymous "they're all crooks and anyway this will make the people of SD hunt them down in the streets" doesn't mean so much to me.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Me neither.

Always Anti-fascist!

She is a politician, and therefore makes enemies and puts up with bureaucratic crap, but I definitely admire the boldness and intention, even if she can't do it with a wave of her hand.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The Minimum Security webcomic sends up South Dakota Senator Bill Napoli, who helped push through the state ban on abortion. It features a woman unable to choose what sort of salad dressing to have, who calls up Napoli's office to get him to make the choice for her -- the strip includes his office and home phone numbers in case you want to try, too.

Now tagless for your comfort.

It'd be worth a couple of bucks to me to even *try* to get a clinic open on the reservation--even if it doesn't happen.

Hell, I donated to the Kerry campaign, didn't I?

Um....

you mean Faust isn't about abortion?

Tresa Waggoner, the Bennett School District music teacher put on paid leave for showing a video clip of the opera Faust, said Thursday that she's looking for a new job.

Waggoner, placed on leave Jan. 30, said she called superintendent George Sauter on Thursday after a local newspaper reported that she would not be allowed to return to the classroom.

...

The video clip, narrated by opera star Joan Sutherland, featured sock puppets singing in French from the 16th-century morality tale.

Several parents complained that the video, which Waggoner got from the school library, contained references to abortion and Satan worship.

A new way of consuming alcohol that offers an immediate hit with no hangover the next day has been introduced in the United Kingdom. The new method is known as AWOL, an acronym for 'Alcohol With Out Liquid', and could become a hit in the global club scene due to the euphoric 'high' created when alcohol is vaporised, mixed with oxygen and inhaled.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

yeah, the MA Legislature is all over the banning of it, even though it's not really A Thing here yet.

Ummm.... Talk about missing the point. That's like all the people who would rant about there being backwards satanic messages in "Hotel California." Hello? Did you listen to the song forwards?

Yes, the play contains references to Satan. HE'S THE BAD GUY.
