Well, so am I (I'm the shortest in my family at 5'7"), but I swear I wasn't drinking and drugging my way through adolescence.
On the downside, it's given me some really screwy ideas of values for short and tall. I attended a wedding once where the bride and groom were both about 5'4", and I felt like a giraffe.

(Now I have a mental vision of Nutty with an extremely long neck. I understand that giraffes are tall, but more than that to me they're ungainly and have really long necks. And splay their legs to drink. I'm possibly not getting the correct impact from her allusion.)
I had to explain to a woman yesterday that if she was really the 5'5 she claimed, a lot of women were going to have to revise their heights down for relative accuracy. And those women could all kick her ass. So at age 50, she had to process the fact (yes, fact) that she was at least 5'6. Never say there's nothing to live for.
(they let two people who are 5'4 marry each other? What is the world coming to?)
