If where I worked had any real interest in advanceing me - or anyone else in my position- that would be cool. But they don't. they made a new position- library assistant - so we could be on the public floor. There are a whole bunch of things that we could do to ease the burdens of the librarians, but we can't do any of it- except on the sly. So when it is quiet, we fold things to be mailed. or count things. Pages and volunteers do those sort of things. for a lot less money. I am somewhat bitter, because I was promised more. however, I never take my job home wioth me, I like the work( when I am not bored) , and the money is very good comparred to the stress level.

Whenever anybody asks me about my five year plan, I start giving grandiose speeches about how collectivisation will boost steel and grain production 11% year on year. If I'm really into it, I take off my shoe and start hammering on the desk.
