It doesn't update nearly enough, which is verra annoying.
After digging out all my old college texts and adding them to the library, I have the urge to read stuff I haven't even thought of in years, like Twain's Connecticut Yankee... and the Shakespeare plays. Oo, and the Spoon River Anthology is totally going next to my bed for quick bedtime reading.
I think I'm still under 80 books entered, but so many of mine are packed away they're going to have to wait. I did ask for the lifetime membership and a cuecat for my birthday, though.
And I got the LT Author button, which is kind of cool.
I've just entered a bunch. One is the only entry of it's kind!!!
I don't understand what you're getting at, ita?
Look here. It's been at 5402 books since the first time I hit that page. I've added about 100 books since then, and y'all even more. The zeitgeist page is partially updated--the member list is current, but the most recently added books doesn't even match the HTML feed. Which is a bit slow itself.
I get cranky about that stuff--not least of all because I can't find the help pages and the FAQ doesn't apply. I'm too scared to dig into the forums for it.
Oh, it's the dog books. Other people don't have Dogs of Ireland, Pointer and Setters or the The Essence of Setters.
Ah, gotcha. Definitely more than 5402 books--and I figure the top shared books on the main page is not right, but then maybe it's more right on the zeitgeist page. (EDIT: Mm, but you're right--the zeitgeist page has unweighted and weighted updated differently!) (EDIT2: Heh. All my other groups, the top unweighted books are 3/4th Harry Potter!!)
I had a few no one else had--I think they were almost all travel books, oddly enough--nothing exciting, just like "Lonely Planet Dublin". Bizarre.
Maybe people haven't gotten around to entering those. At this point, not knowing whether I'm going to pay for a membership or not, I'm just adding a selection.
I figure that Deb and Hec will figure highly in our zeitgeist, and then the rest of the books will be telling. Or predictable (high in Buffy-related works and graphic novels with Batman in them, for instance, or anything by Neil Gaiman).
I'm looking over my tags to see if I'm comfortable with what I've done so far. I think it's both useful and representative as it stands, but a little surprising.
non-fiction (98), fiction (76), fantasy (25), comics (23), children's (22), how-to (15), martial arts (15), science fiction (13), computers (12), weapons (9)
That's more children's books than I was expecting. Otherwise it's pretty much ita.
