Wash: You want a slinky dress? I can buy you a slinky dress. Captain, can I have money for a slinky dress? Jayne: I'll chip in. Zoe: I can hurt you.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Thanks for starting the group, Brenda! I've only catalogued a fraction of my books, but I went ahead and joined. My library is listed under "missweber"

I've got everybody on watch and joined the group--thanks, Brenda!!

Now that I've got all my non-romances entered and tagged, time to wade in with the romances and create all the subcategories for tagging them.

Wish me luck; I might not come out alive, or, at least, not until some time tomorrow morning...

Well, I'm up to "L", and halfway through my bookshelf of romances. Book count is currently at 553--I'll most likely be adding about 100-120 more before I'm done.

I'll be sending the link to the completed list to my family members, but I'm not looking forward to listening to their snarking on the totals and content of said list. I'll just tell my sibs to see what they come up with if they cataloged their music collections.

Another social casualty...

Thank you all for sharing Library Thing. I've just started, and I've listed a chunk, but I've got a good long way to go. I can't wait to look at everyone else's collections.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I've got a ton more, but I haven't been doing them in any real sort of order.

OK, this is ridiculous--I've got about 8 shelf-feet of just Nora Roberts paperbacks. How did that happen?!?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

You cloned half of mine?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

95 so far, with several more boxes to go. (And which shall remain unpacked until I put up the built-in bookshelves. No more double-stacking! For at least a few months!)

[eta - I'm paging through the recommendations, and almost all of them are books I already own but haven't unpacked yet. Heh.]

All done! At least, with the ones I haven't loaned out. 618 books--not too bad, but not too much for the next time I have to move, either!

I've been contemplating maybe going back to a bookstore to work for the Christmas season, but not until next fall (too much going on this year). If I do, then I'll have to watch out for my book-buying, otherwise most of the check will end up with the company instead of paying off my bills.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I pretty much finished this afternoon, topping out at around 500-odd books that aren't cookbooks or kids' books. One thing that this has brought home for me is that I have a whole lotta books that I know I've had within the last couple of years that I can no longer find. Absolam! Absolam!, for instance, which I remember re-reading 3 years ago. Then there's Ulysses, which I had in a lovely large-font version, Lolita, Cryptonomicon, and a handful of others. I should probably make a list, but it might fill me with sour grapes. For all I know, I gave them away instead of permanently loaning them out.
