He doesn't travel well. He's like fine shrimp.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

One thing that this has brought home for me is that I have a whole lotta books that I know I've had within the last couple of years that I can no longer find.

Oh yeah, for sure. But I've also trashed a lot of books in the past few years in dejunking frenzies, so that might be a culprit as well. And I no longer have any real idea what's in the back stack on any shelves that have them.

Still, fun! I've remembered books I haven't thought about in a long time, and seen others on people's lists that had me scurrying over to Amazon.

After today's big push, though, I think I'll just be adding sporadically.

ETA - which reminds me, Kushiel's Dart is in my latest go pile. Anyone wants, just e me. (I just could never get into it, and I'm really trying to keep only books I either have some affection or interest in, or that I'm really seriously planning on getting around to someday. That's a big enough number as it is without hanging on to things that never did grab me.)

I've got to go through the writing shelf and remind myself which ones I still have versus the ones I had and got rid of.

I have 28 Roger Zelazny books! Gosh! And off to join the Buffistas group.

I've just been going through my list and adding all the correct cover icons that are available. I might go ahead and hook up my scanner tomorrow and add icons for those that don't have them yet (a lot of my more obscure romances, mostly).

That cloud option is really frightening--"Nora Roberts" is in a massive font size!!

Oh, I love the cloud.

Oh, I love the cloud.

I had no idea I had so many Roger Zelazny books till I hit the author cloud and he overwhelmed everything.

Yes, I just did finish putting a whole bunch more in, joined a couple of groups, began immersing myself . . . I'm doomed.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The author cloud is fun for this -- I'm obviously aware that my library leans heaveily towards SF and cookbooks, but, um, woah. (What the author cloud doesn't capture is all the medical history books, since those don't tend to be by repeat authors. I should add tags.)

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I dread what's going to happen when I start adding my manga and cookbook collections into this thing.

OMG, y'all have convinced me, I just bought a cuecat from them and am going to do this. If nothing else, it'll help me in the bookstore and in the (godforbid) insurance...

I had a CueCat years ago when they were brand new. I threw it away a year ago. Sigh.
