FWIW, "The Ice Owl," by Caroline Ives Gilman blew me away. Same with "The Man Who Bridged the Mist." I need to read "Countdown" now. Charlie Jane Anders' "Six Months, Three Days," and E. Lily Yu's "The Cartographer Wasps and the Anarchist Bees," are two of my favorite shorts from this past year, so I'm excited to see them there. "Paper Menagerie" wasn't my favorite Ken Liu story this year, but then again, there were so many to choose from.

For you InCryptid fans, Seanan has posted a new short story. It looks like she's doing the story of Jonathan Healy and Frances Brown in shorts; "No Place Like Home" follows "One Hell of a Ride," which follows "The Flower of Arizona," which I haven't read.
I haven't read this one yet either, but it sounds like the mice are in it, at least!
