Because I hadn't read the first, I could not figure out who were siblings and who were cousins
The siblings are Toby (the blond boy), Sophia (the narrator), and Henry (the tomboy). Veronica is the cousin (and daughter of the King), and Simon is
possibly her half-brother and also the King's son, I haven't read the second one yet and I don't know if that's been answered.
Replied in wrong thread. sorry.
In the second book, it is implied that Toby
and Simon are lovers, and Sophia likes Simon.
So the half brother thing is a little confusing.
Yes, that's also implied in the first one. So,
half-cousins, I guess. The British are less stressed about consanguinity.
Wow. I'm kind of shocked that Patrick Rothfuss wasn't nominated for Best Novel for "A Wise Man's Fear".
But how awesome was it that Community was nominated for "Remedial Chaos Theory"?!

That is pretty awesome!!
And Seanan was nominated four times, which is the first time a woman has received four Hugo nominations in the same year!
Oh, Digger got nominated! YAY! That is such a great story.
I'm just reading the noms now. So many great stories (and scripts) on here. Seannan's amazing, PC.
FWIW, "The Ice Owl," by Caroline Ives Gilman blew me away. Same with "The Man Who Bridged the Mist." I need to read "Countdown" now. Charlie Jane Anders' "Six Months, Three Days," and E. Lily Yu's "The Cartographer Wasps and the Anarchist Bees," are two of my favorite shorts from this past year, so I'm excited to see them there. "Paper Menagerie" wasn't my favorite Ken Liu story this year, but then again, there were so many to choose from.
I loved "Six Months, Three Days," too. Glad it was nominated. Great concept well executed.
