Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Hey. New board.

I loved the Tripods. Way more than the Triffids.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I was shocked to learn John Christopher was dead, mostly because I was shocked to learn he was still alive. I read him when I was quite young, and they felt old then. I had assumed he'd died sometime in the 70s at the latest.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I've just picked out, like, 20 books to take to Half-Price tomorrow. Some duplicates, some books I know I'll never read, some books I read for class and didn't actually like, some gifts from friends...it's making me twitchy to think about getting rid of them, but...they're just taking up space, really.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

If it helps, P-C, think how much pleasure they might give to someone else.

Some of these might give pleasure to someone else. Some didn't give me much pleasure. But I hadn't actually thought about that part, so thanks.

Art Crawl!!!

My copy of the Soulless manga arrived today and I was quite taken with how much the cover looks like Jilli modelled for it. The dress looks like it was out of her armoire - a manga Jilli!

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Hee! You are not the first person to have said this.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

While wandering around FaerieCon yesterday, in only slightly-fancier clothing than my usual, two different people asked me if I was from the Parasol Protectorate.

brillig

I was reading the comments on Mark Reads re: LotR, and someone mentioned fanfic where Faramir went to Rivendell instead of Boromir. Does anyone know of this, and if so, do they know where it's at?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.
