Xander: Am I right, Giles? Giles: I'm almost certain you're not. Though, to be fair, I haven't been listening.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I was going to say -- just because he posts them one at a time, doesn't mean he's just watching one at a time...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Think of all the instant gratification cash can give you.

I don't see "I'll wait and have more instant gratification later" being a really effective way to change behavior, but maybe that's just me.

I found the rest of the Skulduggery Pleasant books (4-6, that's it, right?) available through Powell's, who apparently has an International Warehouse. I thought that was news worth sharing, that Powell's has an International Warehouse for your imported book buying needs.

Because books.

I'm reading Water for Elephants, and I keep calling it Like Water for Elephants. Oops.

Was there a consensus on A Discovery of Witches? My mom has a copy I can borrow, but I seem to remember some readers here didn't like it.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm reading Water for Elephants, and I keep calling it Like Water for Elephants. Oops.

I did the same thing when I was reading it. Do you like it?

I only read the kindle sample, but I hated what I read of it.
