Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

GRRM is doing a book signing on the north side of town next Saturday. Do I want to go? It'll be super crazy, and I'll hate all the people, right? It's a wealthy, busy area of town on a normal day. But it'll be insane for that kind of event, right?

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Rayne, I have also read the Rothfuss books, and I liked them very, very much! BIG recommend!

I DL'd the sample chapter of "Miss Peregrine's..." and really wanted to like it...and didn't.

Art Crawl!!!

Man. . . somebody posted at Westeros that Waterstone sent their book already (probably arriving tomorrow) and somebody else got a call from the local bookshop that their copy was ready to be picked up and meanwhile, Amazon doesn't even have my copy (of ADWD) "shipping soon."

Hey. New board.

I just finished my re-read of Ice and Fire.

I have to say, there are a lot of criticizers of A Feast for Crows, but I think it is one of the best books in the series. Yes, I wish I saw more of the missing characters, but the scope of the series is so thoroughly expanded in the book that I just don't mind.

Do we know how many books are planned? ADwD is supposed to cover all of the AFFC timeline plus some more, I know. How much longer before the climax?

The status is NOT quo.

How much longer before the climax?

move out and draw fire

I started reading "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" but stopped about a third of the way in.

I've heard this from a bunch of folks, but the whole presentation of the book is right up my DH's alley, so I got it for him. He actually quite liked it.

It is the first in a series, though, and doesn't even make a pretense of ending. Basically, it's the "inciting incident" for the overall story. Yes, the whole book is the inciting incident.
