A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I just read that, sumi. I didn't know either, and it will totally inform my re-reads.

Did you see the cover for her next book?! SHINY!

Art Crawl!!!

We'll just say that there is so much more in the characterization and plots that we didn't need to get that to enjoy the books. But you're right. Must re-read with this new knowledge.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Epbot had a post about "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children". It sounded right up the alley of some of the 'istas. Anyone read it?

Because books.

I posted a link to the first chapter a few weeks ago -- I think it looks fantastic.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I read a review in EW and it did sound pretty cool.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

A review from SMTB with the unforgettable phrase "unexpected zombies." (snerk)

"Oh no! Has falling sky liquid once again caused you the sadness?" -Starfire

I started reading "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" but stopped about a third of the way in. It just bored me which was surprising. I went into it not realizing it was a young adult book. And it's definitely a young adult book. I didn't really care for the main character I guess. And if I don't like the main character, I have a hard time liking the book. Plus I just came off another book that bored me - Robopocalypse, so I was short on patience.

Has anyone read the Kingkiller Chronicle books by Patrick Rothfuss? I keep hearing really good things and I'm considering giving them a try after ADWD.

I have, Rayne! They're really good. I don't read much epic fantasy, but it was pitched to me as "epic fantasy for people who don't read epic fantasy," so that worked.

Art Crawl!!!

Elio and Linda (from Westeros.org) talk about character parallels that GRRM has set up in A Song of Ice and Fire.

Spoilers for all 4 books and the sample chapter of ADWD that was published in the paperback edition of AFFC. (That's the other reason to still get the paperback edition of ADWD - a sample of WoW.)
