I did pick up The Graveyard Book, and I saw that they also had Charlie and the Chocolate Factory read by Eric Idle, so how could I resist??
Has anyone listened to the Good Omens audiobook? That one could be fun.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

I have. It's quite good, although I think (heresy!) I enjoyed straight Pratchett more.
I know many Buffistas have been affected by cancer. I highly, highly recommend The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer. It's a fantastic history of cancer and cancer treatment, with a generous dose of public health and awareness.

So now I'm totally into audiobooks for my commute. What audiobooks do people recommend, specifically because they're good audiobooks?
I listen to audiobooks for my commute too - it's a great way to arrive not-stressed, despite traffic etc. If you can get hold of this version of The Little Stranger [link] , I loved the way it was read, as well as the writing. It's a lovely modern gothic novel, set in the 1950s if I remember right.
Did you see the Girl Genius comic related to the Hugo nom, Jilli? My husband FB'd it...lemme see if I can find...

I'm excited about Feed. I liked it SO much, although, to be fair, I haven't read the others on the list.

Also, P-C, check out the Classic Tales Podcast, which is mostly classic short stories (a lot of horror but also adventure and other things). Most recently he's done Poe's "The Black Cat" and "A Chapter in the History of a Tyrone Family" by Le Fanu. Free weekly episodes are 30-60 minutes depending on the text. Lately, he's done more and more full-length novels ( The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, and just started A Room with a View by Forster), which take about 8-10 episodes.
Fun tumblr for your feed: Novel First Sentences. They also have last sentences, separately.
A conversation I had with my dad about audiobooks:
"I've discovered that audiobooks are good for commuting."
"Audiobook? What's that?"
"You can listen to the books being read on CD."
"Someone reads the book to you?"
"Yeah."
"That's new.* How much can you fit on one CD?"
"Oh, they're multiple CDs."
"I guess that's good. If you want to...learn something.**"
*Uh, no, they've been around for decades. When they were on tape.
**Reading for fun is SUCH A FOREIGN CONCEPT TO HIM.
