I'm excited about Feed. I liked it SO much, although, to be fair, I haven't read the others on the list.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

So now I'm totally into audiobooks for my commute. What audiobooks do people recommend, specifically because they're good audiobooks?
Also, P-C, check out the Classic Tales Podcast, which is mostly classic short stories (a lot of horror but also adventure and other things). Most recently he's done Poe's "The Black Cat" and "A Chapter in the History of a Tyrone Family" by Le Fanu. Free weekly episodes are 30-60 minutes depending on the text. Lately, he's done more and more full-length novels ( The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, and just started A Room with a View by Forster), which take about 8-10 episodes.
Fun tumblr for your feed: Novel First Sentences. They also have last sentences, separately.
A conversation I had with my dad about audiobooks:
"I've discovered that audiobooks are good for commuting."
"Audiobook? What's that?"
"You can listen to the books being read on CD."
"Someone reads the book to you?"
"Yeah."
"That's new.* How much can you fit on one CD?"
"Oh, they're multiple CDs."
"I guess that's good. If you want to...learn something.**"
*Uh, no, they've been around for decades. When they were on tape.
**Reading for fun is SUCH A FOREIGN CONCEPT TO HIM.
How much can you fit on one CD?
A lot, if you write really, really, REALLY tiny.
Teppy, I may spend too much time on other sites, I honestly looked for a Like button on your post.
My new clothbound Dracula was waiting for me when I got home from book salon. I think this is my favorite C B-S title yet.
Oscar Wilde via Jersey Shore (x-posted in reality tv):
love! Now I want Oscar Wilde goggles for all reality TV. I wish he'd got to see Drag Race.
Still in the middle of Infinite Jest, I've started on a pornographic writing project. I am coming up with some really weird sentences. I kinda like it.
Oh, those were brilliant.
