Byatt's Possession? Loved. Lovedlovedloved. And every other Byatt I attempted to read after it failed to thrill me.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Add me to the list of those who loved Possession.
Beverly, TOTALLY agree. I adored Possession, but everything else was sort of meh.
It's a support novel/lit circle choice for my AP unit on Romance (both in the classical sense and the modern). Possession is a good one because it spans both the classical definition of questing and the modern. (Other choices are Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, Last of the Mohicans).
I liked Possession, was meh on her other stuff. Much like Donna Tartt. I REALLY loved The Secret History, but The Little Friend? Bored me to tears.
I've got to start some re-reading. I'm starting off next semester with three classes, and doing Beowulf, Oedipus and A Room of One's Own, none of which I've actually taught, but which I know pretty well.
Mockingjay is ready for me at the library! And they are open today! And it is a long weekend! It is a New Year's miracle!
Dude, I`ve been spending too much time at Other Places. I just cursored up to the nav bar to hit "like" on your post. But yay, libraries. Which reminds me, I need to send off my out of state app for my Philadelphia library card! So I can check out ebooks, since my local library doesn`t do it. Frustrating, because the Phoenix libraries do, but not mine.
Ooh, and don`t forget Kindle started loaners. And B&N edited their code so you can now see which books are lendable when browsing on your Nook. I only have one, the entire Anne of Green Gables series, which I`m reading now. But when I`m done, somebody can totally borrow it! I think it`s dumb there`s a one time limit.
Kindle loans are only for Americans. Pout.
Really? That sucks. Amerocentric!
Yeah, web browser is only available for Americans too.
