Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Mockingjay is ready for me at the library! And they are open today! And it is a long weekend! It is a New Year's miracle!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Dude, I`ve been spending too much time at Other Places. I just cursored up to the nav bar to hit "like" on your post. But yay, libraries. Which reminds me, I need to send off my out of state app for my Philadelphia library card! So I can check out ebooks, since my local library doesn`t do it. Frustrating, because the Phoenix libraries do, but not mine.

Ooh, and don`t forget Kindle started loaners. And B&N edited their code so you can now see which books are lendable when browsing on your Nook. I only have one, the entire Anne of Green Gables series, which I`m reading now. But when I`m done, somebody can totally borrow it! I think it`s dumb there`s a one time limit.

That said, I wanted to try to see if I could fake an american account on Amazon for my Kindle, just so I could subscribe to the NYer on it, but they will probably know by the WiFi service, which is different for rest of the world than for the US.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

For Lloyd Alexander fans, I'll toss out a lovely, wistful little Yuletide genfic about Eilonwy from the Chronicles of Prydain.
