Ooh, and don`t forget Kindle started loaners. And B&N edited their code so you can now see which books are lendable when browsing on your Nook. I only have one, the entire Anne of Green Gables series, which I`m reading now. But when I`m done, somebody can totally borrow it! I think it`s dumb there`s a one time limit.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Kindle loans are only for Americans. Pout.
Really? That sucks. Amerocentric!
Yeah, web browser is only available for Americans too.
That said, I wanted to try to see if I could fake an american account on Amazon for my Kindle, just so I could subscribe to the NYer on it, but they will probably know by the WiFi service, which is different for rest of the world than for the US.
For Lloyd Alexander fans, I'll toss out a lovely, wistful little Yuletide genfic about Eilonwy from the Chronicles of Prydain.
What was the name of the giant cat from the Chronicles of Prydain?
Llyan.
Thank you!
Anyone read The Magicians by Lev Grossman? My younger brother's friend came over yesterday for a birthday/New Years party and basically threw the book at me saying that she absolutely loved it until the last 100 pages, and then something happened that made her furious. So I'm quite looking forward to seeing what it was that upset her so! The first 100 or so pages have been fantastic.
