I seriously thought about calling him today to make sure he was going to stop at the bookstore on Thursday and send the book out as soon as he could.
If I'm lucky, I'll have it in a week-ish. But probably more like 10-14 days.
And, you know, I have other books to be reading between now and then (notably, Boneshaker [how could I pass it up? steampunk! zombies!]), but I still NEED IT NOW.
I want to read
Boneshaker
too. I saw Cherie Priest at Writers with Drinks last month, and the book sounded interesting.
Ohhhh Boneshaker looks like it would be a good read. I will have to look for it.
Boneshaker
is all sorts of good fun. And Cherie Priest is a very nifty person.
Speaking of things Steampunk, Meara & I totally found a steampunky pub in Oakland tonight. Definitely recommended.
And I really want to read Boneshaker, but not until after I read The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms.
I need to order something form Amazon UK. Is there anything in particular I need to do to pay the pounds, or will it just deduct my dollars from my one-click at the going rate?
It'll convert them automatically. You may want to check -- most credit cards charge an extra 1-3% for "foreign currency conversion." (A quick check suggests that Capital One doesn't, but I'm not positive.)
Hec, you also might want to check into shipping charges. I've ordered a few CDs from HMV in the UK, and shipping turned reasonably priced CDs into very expensive CDs.
