Oh, good! Now I don't feel so badly.

We still have some Halloween decorations up.
Mostly balloons. They're all looking a little flaccid, but I think taking them down now would be like giving up.
Oh, I still have the glass pumpkin filled with candy corn out. That won't go away till the candy corn is gone. And, since we're on a diet, I don't know when that will happen.
I've never really decorated the dorm room except for that one christmas where I was getting along with my roommate and I was, you know, happy.
That won't go away till the candy corn is gone.
You can try smooshing it down the internet to me if you like. Poor, neglected candy corn. How could you?
Happy Birthday, Beverly!
I'm finally putting away the Christmas decorations.
Mine have been down for a while, but the boxes are still in the living room. I need to find some place to put them.
Happiest of Birthdays, Beverly!!!
Happy Birthday, Beverly!
Thank you, lovelies. It's been v. nice so far. Later, there may be cake. Or failing that, pie for certain. Mmmm, pie!

Hee. At Christmas they had the Radio Shack (I think--please tell me if I'm wrong, and I very well could be) commercials with the big red chair. There was the woman with the Marge Gundersen's accent. "...And I just know you're going to get those Halloween decorations out of the yard. Didya see the sale they're having on phones? Nokia, Motorola...and I need a new phone! Is that a lucky coincidence or what?"
Anyway, now any time one of the family mentions getting around to a previously put-off job, we fall into "...And I just know you're going to get those Halloween decorations out of the yard."
We used to have the Christmas tree up till past Valentine's day, lotsa times. In fact, since I've started following the solstices, I've been much better about clearing away the symbols of the previous to make way for the symbols of the present. Something to be said, I guess.
