Man, you just get darker and darker, and the weird thing is, your aura? Beige.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm finally putting away the Christmas decorations.

Mine have been down for a while, but the boxes are still in the living room. I need to find some place to put them.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Thank you, lovelies. It's been v. nice so far. Later, there may be cake. Or failing that, pie for certain. Mmmm, pie!

We still have some Halloween decorations up.

Hee. At Christmas they had the Radio Shack (I think--please tell me if I'm wrong, and I very well could be) commercials with the big red chair. There was the woman with the Marge Gundersen's accent. "...And I just know you're going to get those Halloween decorations out of the yard. Didya see the sale they're having on phones? Nokia, Motorola...and I need a new phone! Is that a lucky coincidence or what?"

Anyway, now any time one of the family mentions getting around to a previously put-off job, we fall into "...And I just know you're going to get those Halloween decorations out of the yard."

We used to have the Christmas tree up till past Valentine's day, lotsa times. In fact, since I've started following the solstices, I've been much better about clearing away the symbols of the previous to make way for the symbols of the present. Something to be said, I guess.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Happy Beverly Birthday! I hope the day continues to be as wonderful as you are.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Happy birthday, Beverly! I hope you have a great day.

In WTF news, my mother just told me about a meeting she and my cousin had with the nursing home social worker about whether my aunt needs to be in assisted living. The social worker said, "Her niece can't take care of her because she works and her sister can't because of her dementia." Said sister was SITTING RIGHT THERE. Mother can't take care of her sister because she has arthritis and a heart condition, but there's no hint of dementia. Asshat.
