Thank you, lovelies. It's been v. nice so far. Later, there may be cake. Or failing that, pie for certain. Mmmm, pie!
We still have some Halloween decorations up.
Hee. At Christmas they had the Radio Shack (I think--please tell me if I'm wrong, and I very well could be) commercials with the big red chair. There was the woman with the Marge Gundersen's accent. "...And I just know you're going to get those Halloween decorations out of the yard. Didya see the sale they're having on phones? Nokia, Motorola...and I need a new phone! Is that a lucky coincidence or what?"
Anyway, now any time one of the family mentions getting around to a previously put-off job, we fall into "...And I just know you're going to get those Halloween decorations out of the yard."
We used to have the Christmas tree up till past Valentine's day, lotsa times. In fact, since I've started following the solstices, I've been much better about clearing away the symbols of the previous to make way for the symbols of the present. Something to be said, I guess.
Dang, I knew I forgot something in my earlier post!
Happy Birthday, Beverly!!!
Happy Birthday, Beverly!
Congrats, Shrift! Great Buffistas in Chicago.
Happy Beverly Birthday! I hope the day continues to be as wonderful as you are.
Happy birthday, Beverly! I hope you have a great day.
In WTF news, my mother just told me about a meeting she and my cousin had with the nursing home social worker about whether my aunt needs to be in assisted living. The social worker said, "Her niece can't take care of her because she works and her sister can't because of her dementia." Said sister was SITTING RIGHT THERE. Mother can't take care of her sister because she has arthritis and a heart condition, but there's no hint of dementia. Asshat.
WTF, Ginger? Not only a stupid social worker, but a socially inept social worker! Where do they find these people? Why do they go into the field and why isn't there a better licensing department for them?
Happy Birthday, Bev!
My hair is now very short. It's freaking me out. But hey, I just woke up, wandered into the living room, and climbed into the sofa bed with meara, so life is good.
Oh! And I nearly forgot: lessons in irony. FINALLY got my car back yesterday after nearly six weeks. Last night, after hanging at Aimee and Joe's until late, we got in the car and started home.
Completely flat tire.
I am lying on said sofa bed with Kristin as we both read the internet. How fabulous is that? Quite, I say.
I think Egypt would miss Fay, but I would love to go visit her some other cool place. Like CHICAGO! If shrift and Fay were both there, how tempting would THAT be?? Super!
And SA is a hottie mchotterson. So there, doctors. Harumph!
Happy Birthday Bev!
