Wash: Little River just gets more colorful by the moment. What'll she do next? Zoe: Either blow us all up or rub soup in our hair. It's a toss-up. Wash: I hope she does the soup thing. It's always a hoot, and we don't all die from it.

'Objects In Space'

Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

...Shrift is quitting her job today? How did I miss that?

amych, that's very cheering. Thanks. Everyone who's been to Thailand has said nice things about how polite and welcoming and friendly and all that the locals are, which is cool - but the whole 'Fat women are seen as circus freaks' thing has cropped up several times too, from several different sources. Which is not so much with the happy making.

Still, I should stop my bitching. The school looks good, there's the chance to take The Cat Daniel along maybe, the country looks fantastically interesting and beautiful AND there's Thai food. Which is all good. I know that.

Guess I'm just feeling rather low about being so very much a card-carrying member of the NGA Society. Which is the kind of boring drivel I generally try not to inflict on other people 'cause, well, boring drivel.

Dear Santa,

I know it's a little early to be writing, but I figure, what the heck, why not beat the rush? Please send Hec a fantabulous new job and me a nice geeky SO.

kthxby fay

Hm, that's weird.

or perhaps these eager beaver prospective tenents wait outsde at the bus stop every day, staring at the apartment building thinking, "YES! I must live THERE! I shall call the landlord forthwith!"

Yeah. I actually just told my mom that it's kind of creepy.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

What are people doing this weekend? Anything exciting planned?

My in-laws are coming to visit, so I'm looking forward to some free food. Other than that, my big plan is to open all the windows and enjoy the spring air that finally arrived this week.

I just scheduled two doctors' appointments and cancelled the cable. I feel all productive. Sad, huh? This is what my life has been reduced to...doctor's appointments and household chores.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Phenomenal amounts of D&D, punctuated by the joy of Wallybee. Meeting her foster mother (not an official title) tomorrow. Dinner and serious talks on Sunday.

Hey, mr tea!

From my book about Thailand:

Khao Sok is connected to two other national parks, Kaeng Krung and Phang Nga, as well as the Khlong Saen and Khlong Nakha wildlife sanctuaries. Together these form the largest contiguous nature preserve - around 4000 sq km - on the Thai peninsula. Khao Sok shelters a plethora of wildlife including wild elephants, leopards, serow, banteng, gaur, dusky langurs, tigers and Malayan sun bears, as well as over 180 bird species.

Should you and Wallybee make it over for a visit, I can't guarantee penguins, but there are cool-sounding beasties I've never even heard of...

Coding and Sleeping

Fantasic House news Deena!

Well, last night there was an urgent care clinic run for Leif. He and his sister were playing in her room and evidently he climbed up on her desk and his sister pushed him off. The result was a bit tongue and a whole bunch of blood. Poor little guy was bawling and saying "Ow, Ow, Ow!" the whole way to the clinic. Once there, he acted liked he was perfectly fine. The doctor said there was no need for stitches for the type of cut on his tongue and provided lots of advice for eating and drinking while it healed. Hopefully, today will go more smoothly.

Jings, Gud - NEVER a dull moment with your wee Viking, is there?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Poor Leif! Ow ow ow, indeed.

Hey Hec! Is it jammie day for you too? Did you and JZ drown the memory of evil workplace last night?

JZ and I are in jammies still, but we're going out to breakfast soon. I did invest in a jug of Stoli yesterday (it was on sale - $9 off!), but did not so much drown my sorrows as pickle them slightly. It was rainy last night so we just ordered pizza in, and watched Slings and Arrows (S2).
