Announcement: Today was of the suck.
I think I'm a poltergeist, or possibly having bad physical biorhythms, or even maybe a Chaos Demon (someone check for antlers?). Three things have fallen out of cupboards onto me, including a package of Oreos the DH bought at the commissary special. (They are now best used for Oreo ice cream).
Then the bottle of olive oil flew off the counter and shattered into a million billion pieces. My back was turned, so I don't know what happened, but my feet got punctured pretty well. Naturally it was a full bottle too, although not the big 2-liter jobbie. Thankfully Mal was napping, so the DH and I could clean up without complications. He's not big on blood, though, so the blood globules in the oil were a problem. Me comparing it to a lava lamp didn't help.
Just now, something in the oven caught fire (what? no idea. I cleaned it last week and have baked one thing, which wasn't a greasy/leaky thing) while I was roasting a chicken for dinner. All the doors and windows are open now, I've duct-taped over the smoke alarms, and I think it's cold cereal for dinner.
On the plus side, the DH seems to be okay with me being on the computer, although Mal is not. But I need the break.
Analysis: Going to stop trying to do things and just watch TV. But will let DH deal with the TV and remote and whatnot.
My next chore is to clean out the van and go shopping for our road trip. But it is cold as HECK outside and the wind is out in force - I don't wanna go outside.
Poor Raq! You take care of yourself. We need our Raq around!
Debet, I'm partial to orbitz because you can search and get results for more than one airport at a time. I can put "NYC" in the box and the results will pop up for all three airports. I suspect this would also be handy where you live. I am not certain if it works internationally as I have never done it.
I ended up going with Orbitz, which is my default site.
I'm going to Germany!
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Some people just have no sense of humor.
Peaceful tv-watching, Raq. What a day!
Germany! Woo! 9 hours of sleep! Hoo!
Finally got over to my mother's yesterday and discovered that there were TWO packages from vw - the cookbook that I expected, and my blanket! Yay! It's awesomely awesome, so soft and cozy and perfectly suited to me. And that's not all, vw put in a bonus comfort shawl (how does she do it?) in gorgeous colors and soft and warm. I've been bundled up in both of them all morning. They even smell good.
Oh, pictures: [link]
Whee! I sat down and read through the entire cookbook last night. I'm gonna make some of these things, dammit.
Oh, mom had also received two packages from Dillard's that we are pretty sure are the things I ordered from them last August since there was a "Returned due to natural disaster" sticker on them. I can't believe they found me!
