We just got Yellowbeard for $9.99 at the grocery store. Please let it be as funny as I remember.
Buffista Movies 5: Development Hell
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Emily, JZ, and I saw Kiss Kiss Bang Bang last night. OMG with the hilarity. LOVED.
That movie delighted me in ways I never expected to feel again. So much love.
We saw Little Miss Sunshine last night, and OMG! SO FUNNY.
The talent competition was ... it was just ... I can't even talk for laughing so hard.
Aimée, yes. I could not stop laughing during that scene.
Joe said, "Well, they should have known. Grandpa was batshit crazy. What were they thinking??"
I was actually braying with laughter at that scene, Aimee. It was perfect. It wasn't even painful--I almost thought I would be embarrassed for Olive, but her family was just so supportive and she was obviously having a good time, I thought it struck just the right tone.
Exactly. At first I was about to cry, but then she ripped the pants off and I lost it.
The little pageant girls creeped me the fuck out.
The little pageant girls creeped me the fuck out.
Do you think they were real pageant girls? OR regular girls done up to look pageant?
I loved how into Olive's routine Miss California was!
I LOVED Miss California if only for the ice cream thing.
They were probably real pageant girls. t shudder
And if they weren't, they aren't that far off.
The little pageant girls creeped me the fuck out.
Seriously. The entire time, I was thinking, "Ew, they really ARE these freakily sexualized little girls. Olive is such a stark contrast."
AND THEN.
