A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

What JZ said. Everything I heard about it was "How can such stupid, vile people exist?" It was dumb, apart from being horrific.

Always Anti-fascist!

Well, that's mostly what they are. I don't know whether to be consoled or disgusted by the relative absence of Hannibal Lecters out there. I'm really sorry to hear that... What kind of society is this, Frank? I'm glad they made the case, though.ETA: It's weird, because of some work she did...God, 15 years ago, she's sort of enshrined for me as The Cutest Little Pervert in The World. And for her, that was what? A week or two out of her life, that maybe occasionally she talked about on the street with a freak like me. But every time I take my jacket out of the closet, I think of her anyway, and how, really, horsehide's warmer. I don't know where I'm going with that except that maybe we affect people in ways we don't even know.(It's not quite as weird as it sounds...living in the desert, I don't use the leather all that much. )

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We saw Letters from Iwo Jima last night. It was too long--the last 30 minutes seem to go on FOREVER, but there were some incredible performances and beautifully shot battle set-pieces.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Emily, JZ, and I saw Kiss Kiss Bang Bang last night. OMG with the hilarity. LOVED.

"This isn't good cop, bad cop. This is fag and New Yorker."

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Tell them about the freaky toy, juliana.

Can't. I've wiped that memory from my files. I had to drink a lot of Fernet to do so, but I achieved wipeage.

(OMG, it is so very freaky.)

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

We just got Yellowbeard for $9.99 at the grocery store. Please let it be as funny as I remember.

That movie delighted me in ways I never expected to feel again. So much love.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

We saw Little Miss Sunshine last night, and OMG! SO FUNNY.

The talent competition was ... it was just ... I can't even talk for laughing so hard.
