All right, yes, date and shop and hang out and go to school and save the world from unspeakable demons. You know, I wanna do girlie stuff!

Buffista Movies 5: Development Hell

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

OK, since it's in theme, I'll pimp myself: I just made about 5 Christmas movie mashup posters for my office door. [link]

Shit's all sorts of different now.

"How the Grinch Stole Boxing Day" is my favorite.

I've never heard an American say, "That was the worst Southern accent I've ever heard! She sounded Georgian and she is clearly suppoed to be from Alabama!"

I've seen plenty of that kind of thing online. And not even just at TWoP: [link]

Oh, hey, Jilli -- A friend just sent me something that I think you might adore. Is it okay to send you a pdf? It's not long, so if you fail to adore it (no pressure), it won't suck up a lot of time.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I think I've made this comment online, but only when people from Eastern Carolina (e.g. the Scarlett O'Hara accent) are supposed to be from Mississippi or Alabama (e.g. the, uh, Sling Blade accent).

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Newsflash, folks - people with a trad Boston accent don't talk like the Kennedys.

"Say it right! Say it riiight!"

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I've never heard an American say, "That was the worst Southern accent I've ever heard! She sounded Georgian and she is clearly suppoed to be from Alabama!"

I've said that! Or, okay, probably not exactly that, because I don't know Alabama accents well enough to bitch. But coastal vs. mountain Carolinas? Or whatthehell is that Texas accent doing in Virginia? Sure.

I need distraction from not hitting my writers with the styleguide.

Hit them. And post it to YouTube.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Speaking of which, can anyone rate Kyra Sedgwick's accent on The Closer for me? Is that really an Atlanta accent?
