No, I had to take the fifteen-year-old to get clothes and get his hair cut. Fun. ::rolls eyes::
In terms of Happy Feet, the nine-year-old loved it, the almost-three-year-old fell asleep for 45 minutes of it, and the husband actively disliked it and thought it was boring. But he can be curmudgeonly from time to time.
I also really disliked it. The animation is really well done, but that's pretty much it. The story is needlessly convoluted, the musical sequences are sloppily put together, and there's this weird dark turn about 2/3rds in that makes NO SENSE in terms of either tone or plot.
(During a scene I was sure was going to be the ending, the little girl sitting next to me turned to her mother and asked nervously "Mommy...is it over?!" and her mom said "No no...there has to be a happy ending...they made this for kids...")
There is kind of a happy ending, eventually, but I thought even that was pretty depressing. The message seems to be that
humans and animals can live in environmental harmony if the animals learn how to do amusing tricks.
And as cynical as I am, that's just not what I go to an animated film about a dancing penguin to hear at 11 in the morning on a Saturday.
That's all it is. It's like a teaser for a teaser.
There's a bootleg recording of the full trailer out.
Actually, that's good to hear, Jessica. I was worried the DH was being needlessly cranktastic.
Do they even own the New Zealand sets for the Shire, or are those the property of Wingnut Films?
I'm pretty sure they were property of Wingnut, and I'm pretty sure the sets (at least) were all destroyed.

Except Bilbo's house which is in Peter Jackson's back yard.
So, this letter from TORN -- just part of the negotiation process?
Doubt it. I've never gotten the feeling that PJ and company make a hard, definite announcement unless it is the final word on something.
Oh Aimée ...
Order of the Phoenix teaser trailer. Not just the 10-second snippet.
