A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Barometer thing?

In #16, note that the volume knob is turned up to 11.

I think Freddy Quimby should walk out of here a free hotel

The little known Armenian short The Time That Barometer Blew Up? That film had the best barometer sequences.

I don't know and what's worse, everybody else does. I give up; I'm a horse with a broken leg.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

2: thinking along the lines of "the notebook", only not on the north american continent.

5: look at the paperclip dude's head a little closer.

8: one word. not sharks, but along the same bitey lines.

10: I think he's trying to stay alive the only way he knows how.

14: if you lived in california, you'd probably want the metal man to be crushed by a truck.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Ah! Got it. I can think, I just can't spell.

This was me. Though I'm consoled by the fact that better spelling skills would have netted me 18 of 20 before looking for hints.

Thank you, SA. I have it now.

Thrive to spite them

SA thanks for the clues! I got #14 right off the bat, but it took me a while to figure out #2 & 10.

Wait! No I got them all. I was spelling something wrong.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I'm stuck on the highlighters on the road and the guy with the staple removers in his mouth.

Strega - Oct 25, 2006 5:18:51 pm PDT #5122 of 10001

For the highlighers: Ignore the road. That's what kept screwing me up. As someone else suggested, making a mental list of what is in the picture may help.

For the staple remover-mouth: Well. It's like the scissor-hands one, kinda, in that it's representing a (very memorable) character rather than a scene from a movie. It's not the main character, but he was in more than one movie.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The staple-remover mouth, I had to go by trial and error off IMDB, because I recognized the character, but couldn't pin down the right movie.
