Yeah. I haven't been overly impressed with any cinema dragons I've seen.The one in Dragonslayer is still impressive. (The matte effects aren't, of course, but the dragon by itself is gorgeous.)

Surprisingly, I liked the horntail dragon in HP:GoF. I say "surprisingly" because I've never liked a movie dragon yet, though the animated Smaug gets an honorable mention.

I was pretty meh even on the dragons in Reign of Fire. They didn't totally suck ass like, say, the dragon in Dragonheart, but they still left me pretty meh.

Unsurprisingly, I'm with Strega about Vermithrax Pejorative being the best cinematic dragon. So far, only she and Sigourney Weaver have been able to make me sit through a movie full of Peter MacNicol's tics.

Richard Boone, IIRC, and, yeah, a great voice (John Huston's Gandalf wasn't bad either).

I haven't seen Dragonslayer, yet. Is that the TV movie with Patrick Swayze and whoever? He's the only one that stood out from the ads for it. I'm still waiting for the sequel to Dirty Dancing.
