Buffista Movies 5: Development Hell

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I think Freddy Quimby should walk out of here a free hotel

Her gal pal, though -- she was aces!

Yeah, she was sassy. In an 'Everything is connected' moment, she was played by Sarah Paulson, the hologram in Serenity.

I thought it had lots of witty lines but I can't deal with sexual innuendo at all. It makes me think of Carry On films and "How's your uncle?" and Barbara Windsor in a shower cap, with one hand on her backside and the other to her mouth, and a family, suffering from barely repressed hostility towards each other, drinking milky tea together as they watch a cricket match on a grey, drizzly Sunday afternoon.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

So, Breakfast Club was good. It was thisclose to being awesome, but the ending irritated me, but I think that's Hughes and I not really getting along. Also Judd Nelson looks sooo much older than the rest of them, which, IMO, makes a huge difference for the character

I look more rad than Lutheranism

There's just a blank hole where the female lead is.

The female lead, and most of the script. Really, it's just 2 hours of Ewan showing off his gorgeous smile.

Fortunately, his smile is enough to carry those 2 hours. Rowr.

Though it is disappointing in that it adds to the list of Movies In Which Ewan Does NOT Whip Out His Cock.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Though it is disappointing in that it adds to the list of Movies In Which Ewan Does NOT Whip Out His Cock.

I've long been on record as saying all movies should be Ewan's Cock Movies, and yet I keep watching the ones that aren't. Even some that have no Ewan at all.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

Really, it's just 2 hours of Ewan showing off his gorgeous smile.

And the abs. Dear heavens, don't forget them.

all movies should be Ewan's Cock Movies

Not. Enough. Wrod.

The problem with RZ in that movie is that she's no Doris Day. That movie needed a Doris Day type to carry it off. Oh, and an authentic-to-the-era story ending, now-seen-as-strange gender roles and all.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

If one wishes not to be spoiled for Lady in the Water, one should not watch the Exclusive behind-the-scenes clip on Amazon. sigh

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Not. Enough. Wrod.

I read this as "Not. Enough. Wood." which works as well, I guess!

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

If one wishes not to be spoiled for Lady in the Water, one should not watch the Exclusive behind-the-scenes clip on Amazon. sigh

Let me guess. They're actually in a modern day forest preserve?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

For those who are only going to find out the ending by being spoiled, is it a long clip?

edit: uh, objectively I guess it's the same length clip for just about everyone. that's not what I meant.

Hey. New board.

ita, if you want to be spoiled (I don't plan to see it either), I'm sure you could wait until a critic tells all and not have to suffer through a clip.
