If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Are male and female pandas equally disinterested in mating?

Yes, it seems that way:

Currently few males in the zoo population breed naturally. Many show little or no sexual interest in females, while others are very aggressive to females. Females, too, sometimes fail to mate. For instance, females periodically have a "silent heat" in which they go through physiological estrus but do not show any behavioral signs.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I see potential issues with the work sex thing, though.

Yes, I am beginning to see that I have not thought things through clearly....

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Pretend that work is sex, and you are not a panda.

I'm imagining someone changing their computer's startup chime to "BOOM-whacka-whacka-whacka-BOOM-whacka-DOW-DOW!

I don't suppose anyone knows what aDNA is, by any chance? I know mtDNA, but this 'a' thing is a new one on me.

"The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be."

Fascinating. [link]

Ancient/Archeological DNA. Think the mosquito in Jurassic Park.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Wikipedia on ancient DNA. Encyclopedia Britannica has nothing.

Neato.

Ugh. The sandwich I had for lunch is not sitting well with me. I wish I'd gotten something else.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I love that the article on blonds going extinct had a photo of Six to illustrate "blond".

Ah. Why couldn't they just call it that? For half the article they actually say 'ancient DNA' and the rest of the time it's aDNA. I was feeling very stupid for not knowing what the hell was going on. Although, seeing as how I really should have known that, I still kind of am.
