What's odd to me is how many people I know from SD.
They are noisy about it or so many flee. That's my rationale for running into people from my hometown all over. It would work for SD too. Actually, both those explain how I know the particular cousin mentioned earlier. She left SD, landed in my hometown, ran into my mom because of a shared name, discovered they were related, etc. After her divorce she left my hometown to go back to SD. So that's like this whole weird circular black hole of small worldness.
The "moral" of that story is Run! Get that abortion! Faster! Now!
Which is why there will surely be pennyroyal planted in my garden.

My strategy for dealing with the crap that is gonna come down in this country is to create a community of people I agree with around me, write checks to organizations I support, and not read or watch the news except in heavily filtered or calmly presented forms.

Perhaps, but a Foucaultian might argue that as long as the reactionary right control the discourse, they probably don't have to worry much about the guns being pointed in their direction.

tonight I am leaving work at 6. I opted to get through as many tasks (10) as possible today instead of taking on one of the more important ones that is time-comsuming and requires actual effort and thinking - Unfortunately that means that PITA task goes home with me tonight to be tackled this evening or tomorrow - then emailed to CEO for comments.
I also wrangled in 3 different co-workers who are not so busy into doing little parts of my work today. YAY!
