I wonder how that would work. Not on grades surely, on standardized test scores? That would be a formula for a well-rounded education.
Maybe on graduation rates:
"Please don't drop out, or I won't be able to pay the rent this month."
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, flaming otters, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I owned a Digicomp; I, too, was disappointed.
I was so hoping it would get me over the hump in my world domination plans, and it just sat there.
My Atari 400 allowed me to effectively take over Canada for a brief period of time in the very early 80's, but I couldn't modify my program quickly enough to with the the patriation of the Canadian constitution and lost it. I blame the sealed keyboard, should've had an Atari 800.
I think my favorite part was when Oberweis inplied that the educational system would work better if teachers worked on commission.
Hee. He is such a wackaloon.
My 2nd favorite part was all the stammering that followed Topinka's challenge to all the others to release their tax returns from the last 10 years. (All her challengers are very wealthy.)
He is such a wackaloon.
I wish he'd stick to being a private wackaloon. I'd like to be able to have some Oberweis ice cream without feeling like I'm supporting him.
I was expecting notes on my manuscript from my agent on Saturday so I could do some writing this weekend.
Saw the mailcarrier, not the usual one, and noticed that she had delivered some mail, but didnt take the outgoing mail, and was zigzagging confusedly along the street.
So I say, "I'm expecting a Priority Mail pack today, are you finished delivering to this building?"
And she says, "Oh, no, I'm just delivering the mail."
I give up.
Sounds like your post office had a case of the same stupids mine did saturday. I went to pick up the box for which I got a slip on friday. The notice said it would be available after 8 am on saturday for pickup. "It's out for delivery." Of course I came home to another slip.
It was there this morning, thankfully.
Yeah. Small, single family homes start near 400K, here. Two and a half years ago, we sold a 2BR (5 room total) house for about 375K. It had a 30 year old roof, and a 60 year old furnace, and no garage.
That's insane. Of course, on the flipside there's my cousin who bought a 3BR on 3 acres in southern Indiana for 40k. Of course, he's out in the middle of no where, 30 minutes via country roads from the nearest town, but still.
Kalshane, you can get the regular oats and microwave them with milk in 3 minutes. That would probably do more for your cholesterol than the instant stuff. Toss in some cinnamon and vanilla before you nuke and it's pretty tasty
Huh. Never tried that. Didn't even think about the fact the instant stuff might not be as good for me.
My understanding is that whole grain is generally the healthier choice. Those prepackaged oats may lose some value in the processing. And they probably have ingredients that you don't really want/need.

I feel doubly guilty when going to the local Oberweis, partially because of the overpriced (but very yummy) ice cream, and partly because I don't want to be giving him any of my nicely liberal dollars. At least Ben & Jerry opened a store just down the street from the Oberweis, so I have an alternative alternative, so to speak.
