I saw the strangest karaoke of "Summer Nights." Four or five girls who were really into it, plus two or three less-than-interested boys who'd been dragged up there by the girls.
Sounded like the original, played in stereo, with one speaker turned off.
Have a good time, Hecubus.
Yay, Lake Tahoe. Have fun, Hec.
It is threatening madly to snow here. In fact, I can see the snow coming down over there, but it still hasn't made it actually here. However, I have a fire going and a fresh load of wood both on the porch and in the house, so I say, bring it, sucker!
Oh, except that our buddy is traveling in today. Hmm. Oh, well.
Also, I have discovered that reading COMM before reading Natter is a healthy practice, thus allowing me not to have the disconcerting conversational segue from ice dancers to, erm, graphite reinforcements.
In related news, today we discovered one of our pencils was missing its lead altogether. While normally that would make me go, huh, today it is making me feel altogether queasy, what with the channel for distribution of fluids aspect of the conversation above.
Hm.
Also? Snowy.
I just ran across someone griping about Fox being so quick to cancel quality programming like Tru Calling, Fastlane, and Reunion. Hilarious that I can find common cause for discontent with someone whose tastes are so opposed to mine.
Okay, I never saw Reunion, but how could anyone call Fastlane "quality programming"? I can understand people enjoying it for the mindless women and fast cars angle, but even those folks would realize it's lacking in any real substance. Right? Uh, right?
ETA: I see Yahoo news has chosen to change one of their headlines. It originally said "Man Shot By Cheney Leaving Hospital" which gave me images of him lying in wait outside a hospital in his hunting gear. It's now "Hospital Discharges Man Shot by Cheney". I guess I wasn't the only one misinterpreting.
My event planning fu is strong.
I liked Fastlane. And I wasn't watching for the mindless women and fast cars. It was fun, and tightly paced, and funny. Enjoyable TV.
I gave Reunion a try. Gave up after 10 minutes when I realized that I already knew how that ep's story was going to unfold -- and that doesn't happen often.

Would you call it "quality television" though?
They get a lot more expensive as you get into the mountains, so you might want to consider a more local place. A LOT.
Good advice. I think JZ thinks we're going to be able to get there without chains, but all anybody is talking about in the office today is how much snow there's going to be in the mountains.
