The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Evan Lysack blew me away. Can you imagine if he hadn't frelled his short program?

Exactly. Even so, he ended up finishing quite well. I thought his long program was one of the best I saw. Matt Savoie's was excellent as well, but I was distracted by the costume (I found the color very off-putting).

Snowboard cross blew me away. Damn, that was amazing to watch. I love that the Olympics can have stuff that is as beautiful as ice skating and as flat out insane as the snowboard cross.

Now envisioning Johnny Weir doing Men's Floor Exercise in mesh gymsuit, a glove, lots of makeup, and to the tune of the Hammer and Anvil Chorus. ... It's not a terrible image...

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

"It's skeet shooting, you idiot, not ski-- Oh, what's the use?"

Skeet, skeet! Skeet surfing! Skeet, skeet! Skeet surfing!

Also, much health-ma to JenP.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Carpool running the kids to school?

My apartment was warmer than usual last night, what with it being almost 60 overnight. I dreamed Mister Kitty gave birth (!) to a litter of a ferret, two rats and a coyote-colored mouse. Too warm=weird dreams, I guess. Either that or I really should have tossed those leftoevers.

Trust my rage

THe snowboard cross was really fun to watch. I fell asleep during the skating, though.

I am Stephanie. Though I guess I did see the best skate by catching Layseck. If only he had done better in the short. I also missed the hideous costumes...and am not googling.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Weird to skim the overnight watch & post on the Olympics.

Biathlon fascinates me because it is such an opposite mix of maximum aerobic exertion -- as anyone who has cross-country skiied can tell you -- and dead calm accuracy.

There probably should be a summer-sport version where you run a 10K with stops for skeet shooting or bowling or whatever. Or maybe high-speed golf, where you have to do the 18 holes in the least amount of time, caddying your own clubs.

It's a shame they don't let me make up sports any more.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Looks like Billytea's Bathrobe Day is catching on.

Loved Snowboard Cross, wish they'd stop comparing it to NASCAR.
