I think that Matt Savoie was my big find for the male skaters (although the blond Canadian was also fantastic)--I really like what he did in terms of artistic grace, and he was (as Button and Hamilton were constantly pointing out) innovative in his combinations and jump approaches.

Speaking of discoveries, I loved the Snowboard Cross!! You don't see much head-to-head racing in winter sports, and it had maneuvering as well as pure speed and cool jumps. I will definitely tune in again for the women's race.

I just saw the news about JenP's surgery and want to post that all my hopes and wishes and thoughts are with her. Get better soon! I mean you!

Oh, yeah, I liked Matt Savoie too -- especially in the short program, where he had the only not-awful costume I saw. *g*

Matt Savoie was a beautiful skater, from what I remember of the short program. And he had a good, understated costume. (Hee. Jinx, Consuela.)

This French costume is hysterical. But I enjoyed this song in Lord of the Dance.

Buttle was fun.

Poor Lysacek. I wish I'd seen his free skate. I really liked his short program.

ETA: Best wishes to JenP.

I missed Lysacek's too -- sounds like it was great. This costume, oh my. So unfortunate.

I think the Buffy and SG-1 costumers got into the skating community.

Please. Don't insult the vampires like that.

Speaking of discoveries, I loved the Snowboard Cross!!

I thought it was pretty cool, too. It's a great little combination of a bunch of different alpine skills.

I'm really enjoying the phrase "alpine skills."

Oh, dear, this skater got his costume from the same place Johnny Weir did.

Ouch, bad fall!

Consuela, we're just sharing costume thoughts, now.

I am freaking freezing. The house is currently fifty eight degrees. I am wearing fleece and pants and a blanket, but I think I need to put gloves on really soon. And more socks. And my jacket. I'm shivering.
