"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

The funniest learnign experience of the Olympics has been watchign curling and discovering that every sport has its own totally incomprehensible cliches. The commentators said Monday "There's no better guard than a second stone," and ever since then the Flatmates and I have been quoting that back and forth to each other, in a spate of "It's a marathon not a sprint" and "We're just grinding it out" and "It's the name on the front of the jersey, not the name on the back" -- perfect!

The best predictor of future behavior, is past behavior.

This isn't actually true, though. Past behavior is a terrible predictor for future behavior, or else we'd all still be wearing diapers.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

All we are is dust in the wind.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

we'd all still be wearing diapers.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

This isn't actually true, though. Past behavior is a terrible predictor for future behavior, or else we'd all still be wearing diapers.

Ah, I see you've never cared for someone with dementia. Not to be a total downer, but it's actually quite uncanny how closely the loss of function mirrors the learning of it.
