"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Re: PR

Okay, my first question has to be -- what the HELL was Austin Scarlett wearing? He had on more makeup than me And Mike P, I told you that Santino would make it, for the drama factor. I was also surprised that Daniel picked Chloe to go. His lame bit about how she had her own shop was crap.. But, I'm not suprised that Kara didn't make it. However, for once Santino didn't have a clearly shittier outfit. I actually liked it. If it had had less shit on it (which is the basic criticism of any of Santino's designs it could have been nice. It also looked heavy, which is another basic Santino criticism, he doesn't think about the person wearing the outfit. But, I'm looking forward to the bitchy reunion show. I saw tears!

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Here is a pretty good hand-eye coordination game.

Okay. That was mean.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I like Santino for the same reason I liked Jay & Austin and dislike Kara Saun and Chloe. He's creative. He has a point of view and, unlike Kara, can quickly develop an idea. On a show like this, I don't care what makes a woman look good, you can find that shit anywhere. Or elegance and taste. Target sells that now! I want to see someone make something completely new and completely couture. Which is also why Daniel's orchid blouse was the best piece this year, I tend to think. Those three identical dresses up tonight-- this is the best and the brightest? Even Seventeen Prom would hesitate to feature dresses so completely anodyne.

(Speaking of Jay: I thought his earphone accessories for the Fashion Week show last year was a completely OTT feature. Now it looks really great to me. They're exactly what NYC is like these days.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

But Santino can't quickly make the garment (I love that word now!) that he has in his head and have it actually be, you know, finished. Now, I'm sure their deadlines are artificially short, but not by much, wouldn't you think?

Semi-related note: My student haircut at Arrojo Studios was the first time I had ever heard a teacher tell the cutters to go faster. Nick was all, "Time is money! Can't keep the clients waiting!" Of course, it still took like two hours top to bottom, but at least he was conscious of that.

Yeah, the technical skills vary among the contestants and that might be important to one-- certainly it seems like two of the finalists are the most technically skilled.

Here's something I noticed tonight about deadlines: first, they're doing the interviews at the same time they're making the garment. Second, I suspect they started their garment today the same day as the elimination aired last week-- just because Heidi was wearing the same OTT makeup and it wasn't obvious that the four had woken up, merely that they were showering/changing at the beginning of the episode, which they would do right after that particular challenge. Also that Santino and Daniel came into the apartment after the first day and saw Nick's message to them for the first time. In any case, I'm sure Heidi gives the instruction the same day as the judging-- it would be pointless to have her come in the next morning.

One more thing: loved Kors's imitation of Santino. What delicious, delicious irony.

I think that they get their assignments while the last person is packing up.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My assistant cancelled on me today, which sucked because I had a migraine, and it was the biggest class we've ever had at this time.

I ended up teaching one of the best classes I ever have. I made shit up on the fly, I tied it together and it felt good. And then one of the students came up to me afterwards and he'd gotten it, gotten why I'd taught it the way I did. That felt good.

Sure, the head still hurts, but I don't feel as helpless as it often makes me.

Pain management tomorrow at 8am. The shoulder they loosed up is as tight as ever, if not more. I mean, it was loose. Then it stopped.
