The problem with putting out the garbage the night before is that we have lots of skunks and oppossums...
I was going to say bears, then I figured there might not be a big bear problem there.
Lids on garbage cans, even good ones, are not so much help with bears. Except special bearproof ones that come on heavy-duty metal cans bolted to the sidewalk. Those significantly reduced the bear problem downtown.
