Jayne (Husband): Oh, I think you might wanna reconsider that last part. See, I married me a powerful ugly creature. Mal (Wife): How can you say that? How can you shame me in front of new people? Jayne (Husband): If I could make you purtier, I would. Mal (Wife): You are not the man I met a year ago.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

A few years ago Mom's church had a new pastor who also without a flake, morning of, cancelled church by PUTTING A SIGN ON THE DOOR. He didn't last long.

I'm not sure if the congregation of First Presbyterian was more offended because a) the manse was next door or b) it was so lutheranish of him to do.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

What is even happening?

Heh, heh, heh. Cindy funny.

I hope he thinks so, Jen. I shut off the P.C., went down to the basement, read for a while, came back up, rebooted the P.C. and sent it, after all.

Mark your calendars, NBC just played another country's national anthem.

Granted, it was the first medal of the games. (and for the record, no, he was not singing)

The evil is this way?

NarrAtor! Have you seen this: [link]?

I feared that you were trying to link me to some LiveJournal thingy, but instead it's almost Bronze-like. Who is hosting that board? Nevermind -- I see it's the folks from the BetaBronze. Interesting

snerk

(Although, I'm surprised the Lutherans would cancel on account of anything. They're pretty fierce.)

Our senior pastor (who's been with us more than 20 years) originated the cancellation message, so I don't think the a.p. is on his way out the door. I remember the pastor telling us a year or so ago, that there'd only been one cancellation in X years (maybe even longer than he'd been with the church). Heck, our congregation even met when the church burnt down. It's too funny to me, that this hysteria has them cancelling before the snow even falls.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I was hoping for a H:LotS DVD from Netflix in the mail, but no such luck.
JenP! I am a git. I *just* refound the dvd you sent me. I shall watch and return it. And then I shall attempt to go through the rest of this stack of stuff. For all I know, Jimmy Hoffa is hanging out in there ordering discount pizza.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

We're getting some flakes here, but mixed with rain. According to the weather channel website, we're supposed to be getting 6-10 inches of snow overnight, then another 1-3 tomorrow.
