I have really switched over the national health insurance idea, I used to be skeptical, but now I'm of the opinion that while it would suck in some areas, that overall it would be less of a PITA that what we (the U.S. we at least) have now.

I think it's partially subsidized by his department, but yeah. No dental, though.

Of course, when he was working for a small corporation, the whole family got excellent health care and dental without paying anything.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

That sounds insane, tommyrot. Maybe it gets the company a tax break or something?

There's only three of us. One of my bosses has a shitload of medical expenses because he's diabetic, which makes our group coverage expensive.

Somehow, it's cheaper for us to have separate policies.

My insurance is just about twice what Brenda pays. On the other hand, they've paid out $100,000+ on me in the last few years.

Hi, Nilly! I'm doing fine, except that I had to have five visits from the plumbers before they stopped the leaks under my kitchen sink. The last visit seems to have done the trick, but I'm still reluctant to put everything back.

Oh, Nilly, I'm hanging in there. Writing and looking for social justice, mostly. And they are both going well enough, but I wish they could both be perfect.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Gah, I won't see Project Runway until at least 6PM tonight, and it's going to be hard trying to avoid spoilers until then. Not reading the whitefont, not reading the whitefont, slightly worried by the context of the whitefont...

I think there have been four failed attempts for national health coverage in the US in the last 60 years.

If Roosevelt had survived the war, we'd probably have gotten national health insurance in 1946.

Damn you, Hitler!

Hitler killed Roosevelt?
