Well, it's just good to know that when the chips are down and things look grim you'll feed off the girl who loves you to save your own ass!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Semi-Home From Mourning Meara

I think the ID people have wisely concentrated their efforts on proving all of biology wrong, before taking the larger step of proving all of geology and cosmology wrong.

Tom, I may need to tag that.

I’m curious about this Steph. If you consider the back, the knee, the appendix, or the thousands of failed “experiments” that we find recorded in our DNA, don’t these things seem more consistent with a gradual and imperfect process of evolution, a process that is constrained by its history, than they are with an a priori design by a supreme being? I mean, if we were designed so intelligently, why do we need a pharmaceutical industry?

Well, the assumption there is that G*d's priorities and your priorites are the same thing. If you believe that there is a vast eternal creator and that the vast eternal creator decided to make knees we'd consider "wonky" you accept that G*d could have his reasons.

Of course, lots of people believe in evolution AND an intelligent designer. The design isn't necessarily happening on OUR schedule after all -- in a few million years knees could be great.

The nice thing about mourning in Kentucky is that your Aunt sends you home with pimento cheese sandwiches.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

In the last hour and 45 minutes, I have driven home (somehow setting off my roadside assistance phone, which was a little embarassing), picked up lots of sushi, eaten lots of sushi, started the laundry (conning the neighbor who was going to the laundry room at the same time to give me most of the washers), brought up the huge tub o' cat litter, taken down the recycling (startling a racoon in the process), put the laundry in the dryer, cleared out all the unnecessary shows from tivo, watched most of the Colbert show, and pet the cats.

I think it is going to be tequila time soon, because I AM ON VACATION!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Oh, I bet those look great, Allyson.

Quick Project Runway question -- in the promo for next week, Santino says, "Daniel Vosovic decides to tell me..." What? My DVR stopping recording lost me a couple seconds. Did he say?

ION PR news, am sad to see Nick go!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

It took me 2 hours to get home and I didn't even stop for sushi.
