Kat, what's the difference between an armstand and a handstand?

Well, if Suela doesn't know what they are, then I feel a little less of a complete ignorat.
msbelle, happy second-day-of-your-new-age! May this year, um, what didn't anybody wish for you yet? May it have lots of waking-ups right when you want and not later, or something.
The 'armstand's we do at my yoga practice are more like forearmstands. Think of your hands laid flat on the floor, forearms likewise.
(I don't actually DO them, I just practice the leadup to them, which is called dolphin pose.)
Ah, okay: I can picture that.
My upper body strength sucks ASS. Ah, well. I'll be training again..eventually.
Allyson, do the minimum cleaning, and relax a bit more.
Nilly and Suela, armstand. Handstand and Headstand.
An article mentions that it's not armstrength but stability and flexibility in the shoulders which is where I'm both weakest and tightest in my whole body.
Which explains why I can't do it.
Thanks, Theo. [Edit: and Kat!]
I've tried to image-Google, but it didn't make the diffrentiation between hand- and arm- stands. Apparently, Google doesn't do yoga.
Do you think we should introduce it to Rio? If it's Google itself, does it need any sort of introduction to anything? I mean, it's Google, so it knows of yoga, it just doesn't do it, right?
These questions brought to you by "hmm, now that I think about it, I really didn't get to grab anything for lunch today, and I should really do something about it".
it's a holiday.
Idon't have to work.
I had plans to go see Juliana and have sushi with her.
I woke up with a migraine.
Kicks Universe, and my head, hard.
Morning, all. Sitting here in PJ bottoms and a tank, enjoying not working. I am so excited for Allyson -- that's so cool!
Trudy posted the full text of MLK's IHAD speech today, and I am thinking about working it in to my lesson plan tomorrow (poetry unit). It's chock-full of excellent metaphors and allusion, and I was thinking I could make them read and discuss some Langston Hughes and Maya Angelou...but since I am still caffiening up, I am drawing blank to more excellent poems about social injustice that are accessible. I know Neruda has some, but they are pretty long and involved for my freshman and sophomores, but I would really love to have a poem from the Latino perspective.
Any ideas?
Oh, and you guys talk about House so damned much that I have to see what it's all about. I'm DLing it now.
Also, I think I must get BG on the schedule now, I have so many friends who say it's excellent fun. Is it out on DVD? 1st season, I mean?
And Gimlet just sidled onto my lap, and is mrrrping at me to pet her. Sucha soft kitty.
Oh, {{Perkins}} I hope you feel better soon.
