First I was a dork, and then I was lame. I need to take my iPod outside and be emo now.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, flaming otters, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
holy crap that's a scary x-post.
Clearly you guys are wearing a higher grade of tinfoil hat than the rest of us.
That's why we put out our monthly conspiracy newsletter. Unfortunately, right now we only have two subscribers, and I suspect that those two people are me and amych.
the OC made me thoughtful. I'm glad to see they let Seth be Seth, that is to say insecure and unable to be good decision boy. But I was confused as to why Kaitlin kept talking about Marissa as someone everyone loves and sees, as someone who overshadows her. Okay, I can see the overshadowing part, but Marissa? the alcoholic, pill popping, almost suicidal, faux lesbian who shoots people? whatever.
Also, question: was it here that people were talking about Gerald Butler's turn as Beowulf? I finally saw the trailer and Butler seems to big to be Beowulf. And I'm disappointed that Grendel is just some excessively hairy dude and not an actual troll.
1. Task Manager. Anything new running?
Not that I see on a cursory check. I ran HijackThis, and the only unidentified registry key was a setting for Spyboy (which is now my bitch, and is updating again).
2. Registry. Anything suspicious?
The first thing Ad-Aware deleted this morning was a registry key, and it hasn't reoccurred. I haven't gone in and physically looked at the registry yet.
3. The HOSTS file?
Is it literally called "hosts"? I don't see anything by that name in the System32 folder.
What's your system doing when you try to surf?
Some sites work fine, like this one. I can always get to Yahoo Mail's front page, but no further. I can get the header of cnn.com, but not any content. I can load Norton's webpage, but not McAfee's. It seems to be completely hit and miss.
But I was confused as to why
Her info is way out of date, is my fanwank. And being a Cooper girl, she's not bright enough to figure that out.

To bad your wayback machine went to 1969 where neither of those things exist yet...
Is it literally called "hosts"?
Maybe lmhost? I'm on a Mac right now, and entering a food coma.
It may also be in Windows>System32>drivers>etc.

Okay, that doesn't sound quite as bad as the nasty program I ran into. It was similar -- some pages would load just fine, but others wouldn't. However, the ones that wouldn't would get hijacked and redirected to some other site entirely, namely on the home page and on several search sites.
Sorry, there's not much more help I can offer.
Hosts will be in system32/drivers/etc
Edited because I am slow
