You mean the quad, Zenkitty? I know nothing about it, except my dad ripped his free of the kneecap a few years ago and...yeah, you don't need to hear about that.

Zenkitty, the back is the hamstring and the front is the quadricep.
Brenda, you need motion-control shoes. I've got a pair of New Balances that are designed for that. 825s, I think -- they're very good.
Brenda, this site lets you search their shoes by arch size and running mechanics (including pronation/supination).
is the opposite, 'suela, stability? Or is motion control and stability the same thing?
Oh, thanks. And I need new shoes, now. I've been putting it off.
Hmm. I'm not sure, Kat -- I've just looked at Motion Control, which is designed for pronators and folks who suffer from plantar fasciitis, like me. I think Stability may be side-to-side control, rather than diagonal.
Huh! Shoes are so complex. I should so start running again. Maybe tomorrow. Or Tuesday.
Yep, that's it. I pulled my quadricep. Perhaps my beginning workout was a little too enthusiastic.
Jessica, thanks for that site, even though it wasn't for me!

I got my running shoes at New Balance--I needed someone to watch me walk and decide what was best for my feet because I'm clueless. But it's about as close as the nearest Foot Locker, so no big deal out of my way.
Will someone make me hungry enough for dinner?
