Yep. we watched them slowly remodel the building. I just didn't think they were opening quite this soon. They opened yesterday and the place is really beautiful. In a nook by the door, there's even a couch with armchairs around a table which is perfect for brunch.
I pass it everyday taking Em to school. They really redid that building quick. I remember when it was a very icky Rite Aid.
Aimee, the inside is great. [link] It's pretty airy and bright, a lot like the Portos in Glendale, or at least the cafe side fo the Glendale one. Though not a ton of space. It makes me laugh that the Rite Aid moved across the street.
They also have an upstairs which makes me wonder if the upstairs will be for party stuff and cake orders.
I want a Porto's, dammit. Also a belt. I should go.
Porto's doesn't have belts.
Wait! Porto's is that fabulous bakery I used to buy my fruit tarts! Holy carp!! Now I'm really freaking excited.
I want a Porto's, dammit.
Nenner neener.
Porto's doesn't have belts.
Which works out okay, since I want the belt now, yet have no Porto's.
Nenner neener.
Fine. But I have a beach. I'll get over it. Ish.
Yes, Aimee it is. where they use a dollop of chocolate to cement the fruit tart down and then they have the best cream and really good fruit.
yum.
Music! Including the Jawaiian stuff but also Caribbean. I wonder if they have the "You've got issues" song I heard in Nassau and now can't find.
Or Sophia George which I have been craving since forever.
Kat, do they serve the pulled pork sandwich?
wonders when she can make it down to LA again.
Perkins, do you have a pulled pork sandwich source near you now? Weekend activity. - Now I am remembering fondly my searches for awesome wings and a good margarita. I still have not found a chile relleno I like in NYC, I need to pick that search back up.
